With 2020 well underway the found of Bradford Manufacturing Weeks Nick Garthwaite, past president of Bradford Chamber of Commerce, Chair Bradford and Airedale Manufacturing Alliance and managing director of Christeyns laundry detergent manufacturer takes a moment to look back at last year’s event.
Nick says “It is without any doubt for some young people in the city district that “Bradford Manufacturing Weeks” has been life changing – that sounds quite dramatic but that’s the reality. More young students are choosing an Apprenticeship as a career path, apprenticeships of all types I hasten to add. Over 5,000 young people had some form of contact with manufacturing during the two weeks of the 2019 event. Additionally, we are also seeing more interest and understanding from the schools and teachers about the world of manufacturing, something that we must continue to nurture.”
Planning is now underway for “Bradford Manufacturing Weeks” 2020. We are investigating new ideas and endeavour to deliver bigger and better events this year.
