Bradford Manufacturing Weeks 2021: School Recycling Competition Winners Announced

Recycling is one of the best ways to have a positive impact on the world in which we live. We must act fast, as the amount of waste we create is always increasing. For this years competition, Bradford Manufacturing Weeks invited students to immerse themselves in the world of manufacturing, and come up with innovative new solutions to recycling.

Students have been hard at work, designing and manufacturing their own waste recycling units for their school or college. The competition brief outlined that the designs should be practical but also fun and interesting, as to encourage other students use them.

The competition judges were very impressed with all entries and blown away by some of the ideas students have presented. The decisions weren't easy, but the winners have been announced:

 

Category: Yr 7-9

Joint 1st: Beckfoot Thornton - Husain and Woodhouse Grove - Elizabeth Smith

Joint 2nd: Beckfoot Thornton – Finlay and Yasmin

 

Category: Yr 10-13

1st: Oastler School

2nd: Bradford Alternative Provision – Denis, Arron, Jamal, Hashim, Milan

3rd: Bradford Alternative Provision – Amy N
